1988 UK Taikai

1988 UK Taikai in Wimbledon. I was very fortunate to be able to organise 8 UK Taikai for Hatsumi Sensei. In 2022, I organised Noguchi Sensei's UK Taikai and in 2027 I will organise Nagato Sensei's UK Taikai. That will be 40 years since the first UK Taikai in 1987 and my 10th Taikai organisation.

Sensei

This is Ilan Gattegno's new book abot Hatsumi Sensei. It includes contributions from Japanese and Western Dai-Shihan. I am honoured and very happy to share recollections of my first meeting and training with Hatsumi Sensei in 1983 and also to write something about the Amatsu Tatara (p.111-118). Other Dai-Shihan likewise have poured their hearts into […]

Jūdan (十段 10th Dan) in Bujinkan Dōjō Ninpō Taijutsu (武神館道場 忍法体術)

Bujinkan King Dōjō (武神館 キング 道場) training - 25th July 2022.

We worked with Kosei no Kamae against various attacks drawing on Hatsumi Sensei's teachings from the late 1980s. Good work from everyone who attended, thank you and well done.

Bujinkan King Dōjō (武神館 キング 道場) training - 18th July 2022

We practiced - moving back and giving way with to shoulder, to apply a form of uke (but receiving with the side of leg that is moving back) that Hatsumi Sensei often taught in the early to mid 1980s. We used this method against a single punch to overextend and unbalance to strike at Uko […]

My thanks to Matthew Childs of 'Ninja Boom Film' for posting this photo of my friend Arnaud Cousergue being choked and about to be thrown with ganseki nage (岩石投げ) by Hatsumi Sensei, as I look on. See: https://www.facebook.com/NinjaBoomFilm
